The table
A real dinner every week, cooked in a real kitchen, with a seat that stays open whether a student came last Thursday or not. Arguments are welcome. Phones are not.
The Mission
Young people arrive on campus with values their families spent eighteen years instilling. Odysseus makes sure somebody is standing beside them.
The voyage
Every fall, young people arrive on campus carrying convictions their families spent eighteen years instilling, and four years later, too many graduate having quietly let them go. Not because they were argued out of them, but because nobody stood beside them: no community, no mentors, no training in how to think clearly under pressure.
Odysseus changes that, and it does it the slow way. On each campus we serve, a respected local family opens a beautiful home near campus. There are weekly dinners around a real table, mentors who know each student by name, retreats that forge lifelong friendships, and a curriculum in logic, rhetoric, character, and the great tradition, so students graduate with their values intact, their reasoning sharper, and a community that lasts for life.
Odysseus Network raises and stewards the resources that make it possible: the homes, the dinners, the retreats, the mentors, the curriculum. When you give, this is what you build.

Odysseus Foundation
The house is not a venue. It is somebody’s home, and the students are guests in it until, quietly, they are not guests anymore.
A real dinner every week, cooked in a real kitchen, with a seat that stays open whether a student came last Thursday or not. Arguments are welcome. Phones are not.
A respected local family lives the mission in front of students. It is the single thing no program, no conference, and no chapter meeting can replicate.
Adults who know each student by name, remember what they said last month, and are still answering the phone ten years after graduation.
Several days away, together. This is where the friendships are forged that hold a person steady for the rest of the voyage.

The arc
Nobody joins a curriculum. They come for dinner, and four years later they leave whole.
First year
Met in the first weeks, before anyone is lonely enough to trade what they believe for somewhere to sit. Dinner, a name remembered, an invitation back.
Second year
Formation begins in earnest: logic, rhetoric, how an argument actually works, and how to tell a real one from a clever one.
Third year
Students take responsibility: leading a table, mentoring a freshman, carrying part of the house. Conviction becomes character.
Fourth year
They graduate whole: values intact, reasoning sharper than when they arrived, and a crew that does not disband at commencement.
The teaching arm
Odysseus Lyceum is the mission’s educational arm. It teaches live online classes for students and families, trains and fairly compensates its instructors, and writes the curriculum used around the tables in every Odysseus House, published and licensed so other schools, co-ops, and families can teach it too.
Formation is the part of this work that travels. A dinner reaches the students in one town; a well-taught course reaches a family three states away, and a published curriculum reaches the school that will still be teaching it in twenty years.
